Full Day Watercolor Workshop "Fuschia Flower" with Lynn D. Pratt, NWS AWS WIW

Award-winning internationally known watercolor artist Lynn D. Pratt will guide you step by step, demonstrating how thoughtful details and layered techniques can bring your watercolor to life. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a finished painting with amazing depth, vibrancy, and realism.

In this one-day workshop, you’ll learn techniques to create paintings that feel more three-dimensional, luminous, and realistic. Ready to transform your watercolors? Join us for a creative, hands-on day of painting and discover new ways to make your watercolors glow.

You’ll paint a fuchsia flower against a rich black background while learning how to:
·         Create large, confident wet-into-wet washes.
·         Preserve glowing white paper highlights.
·         Paint bright white petals with soft, realistic, luminous shadows.
·         Build rich layers of color and value to create depth.
·         Layer in a smooth, vibrant black background.
·         Use dry-brush techniques to add realistic texture.
·         Mix pigments for vibrant shadows and rich dark areas with depth.
·         Add finishing touches that elevate your painting and bring your work to the next level. 

All materials supplied. There will be a one-hour break for lunch during this full day workshop.

About Lynn D. Pratt, NWS AWS WIW
Lynn D. Pratt lives in small-town Vermont with her husband, and her two adult children live close by. She paints in a very photorealistic style which she adopted from her background in architecture and her love for detail. In college, Lynn studied architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts graduating cum laude, third in her class.

Lynn is an international award-winning artist, demonstrator, juror and watercolor instructor and showcases her work in solo shows and international exhibitions. She is a signature member in the National Watercolor Society, American Watercolor Society, Women in Watercolor, and multiple others. She has been featured on television and in many magazines and books including Splash, Watercolor Artist, Artscope and The Artists Magazine.

Lynn has a deep passion for teaching watercolor and finds inspiration from sharing her love of the medium with others. She travels all over the country to teach in-person classes, give demonstrations and judge watercolor competitions. She holds classes for every age and ability in person and online and takes on a limited amount of one-on-one mentor students each year as well. Lynn started her Let’s Paint Online School in 2019 and currently has over 160 full length video tutorial classes available as well as dozens more about materials and techniques. Her online school has become her passion and she loves connecting with hundreds of amazing students from all over the world.

In 2020 Lynn started Women in Watercolor and runs the International Women’s Organization. WIW has an Annual International Juried Competition, Members Only Exhibition and an international membership of hundreds. Lynn loves working with and promoting these talented women from all over the world and is excited to continue to grow WIW.
