Tom Chesnut
To convey universal messages of peace and tranquility, Tom's work
uses views of Nature without human intrusion. He feels a
strong connection with the Natural World and this
interconnectedness shows in his work. From his plot of woods
in Sand Lake, to New Yorks Adirondacks and Vermonts Green
Mountains, to the Mormon Trail and alpine lakes in Wyoming, he
endeavors to show his appreciation for the Natural World in his
photographs. |

Daniele Ippoliti-DeShaw
Her desire to expose the
lost wonders of nature's little intricacies is seen in the variety of
abstractions she creates through photography. Using single
shots, kaleidoscope images, or creating collages with bits and
pieces of her nature photographs, she creates unique characters who come with a message. |

Watercolors by Tom Ryan Watercolors
I particularly enjoy the quiet serenity of the
Adirondacks and try to capture that emotional feeling in my
watercolors. I paint almost exclusively using the primary
colors of red, yellow, and blue, typically using two of each. I start many of my paintings by soaking the watercolor paper
and utilizing a wet-in-wet technique that results in soft
edges that I particularly enjoy. Once the paper dries, I add
dark hard edge strokes for interest and to emphasize the
center of interest in the painting. The result is a painting
that is a blend of soft and hard edges. I painted the
watercolor "Fall Time" on location in October 2008. The
background is a mixture of mostly soft and a few hard edges.
The "whites" are the white watercolor paper with no paint
applied. |
