John Sheldon’s My Journey to the Center of the Earth

After last fall’s successful run of The Red Guitar, his musical monologue of the history of rock and roll as he lived it from being Van Morrison’s lead guitarist at 17 to writing songs for James Taylor, My Journey to the Center of the Earth continues the tale.

My Journey to the Center of the Earth is in town for TWO SHOWS ONLY! Performances are Friday, November 11 at 7:30pm and Sunday, November 13 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $25 General Admission/$10 Student and are available online at hubbardhall.org, by calling 518-677-2495 weekdays between 11am and 4pm, or at-the-door.

Using music, sound, and storytelling, John takes the listener on a journey through the elemental forces of life, from the molten center of our earth, through the atmosphere, into space and back, stopping off to visit with spirits of wolf, deer, and a bird made out of music. Drawing on familiar styles of guitar, from folk, to classical, to blues, to Jimi Hendrix, and layering these sounds together in real-time with voices, John creates a world of music and feeling that is completely unique.
