Letting Go of the Lines

Date/Time: 3/24/2018 (10:30 am - 01:00 pm)

Artist-in-residence Kori Albrecht will lead an exercise in blind contour drawing. This allows the artist to let go of what he or she feels the outcome should look like and, instead, to let the piece evolve into its own work of art. The artwork created may or may not look like the still-life set-up at all in the end. Admission is $10 for members and $12 for non-members. To RSVP, contact Kayla at 518-792-1761, ext. 310, or email

Date/Time: 1/12/2018 - 3/18/2018 (10:00 am - 05:00 pm)

Charles R. Wood and Whitney-Renz galleries
The exhibition examines the pivotal role of Alphonse Mucha (1860 – 1939) in shaping the aesthetics of French Art Nouveau at the turn of the twentieth century. The artist’s posters and graphic style popularized the international style. A Czech nationalist, later in his career, he depicted the history of the Czech lands and people. Master of Art Nouveau spans his career, including a panel from his Slav Epic series, and bank notes from his homeland.
