Mushroom Growing

Date/Time: 5/5/2018 (02:00 pm - 05:00 pm)

Agricultural Stewardship Association:

Most of us are familiar with the white button, crimini, and portabello mushrooms which are now widely available in grocery stores, but there are other kinds of tasty mushrooms that you can grow at home or for income generation. This hands-on workshop led by Ken Mudge, a retired associate professor emeritus from the Department of Horticulture at Cornell University will introduce you to the cultivation of shiitake, oyster, lion’s mane, and wine cap stropharia mushrooms. The emphasis will be on shiitake which are grown on fresh cut logs.

There is a $10 fee for this workshop. Each participant will bring home an inoculated log. Support for this program is provided by the Robert H. Wentorf Foundation.
