LARAC welcomes its new organizational member, Mary
McClellan Hospital in Cambridge and announces a new off-site display
area at the Mary McClellan Skilled Nursing Facility at the Mary
McClelland Hospital.
Mary McClellan Hospital has been part of the
Cambridge Community since its establishment in 1917 by native
Washington County resident, Edwin McClellan. The Hospital was built
and endowed by McClellan, a successful businessman and philanthropist,
who wanted to provide local health services to the residents of his
community.
The Mary McClellan Skilled Nursing Facility is the
location of LARACs new off-site display area. The Nursing Facility is
a 40 bed extended care site for residents in need of 24-hour nursing
care, as well as sub-acute and rehabilitation patients who use it as a
stepping stone to transition between hospital care and home. These
services are all part of McClellan Health System, a community based
health care provider that also encompasses McClellan Family Health
Centers in the Town of Cambridge, Greenwich, Salem and Hoosick Falls;
and Sexual Trauma and Recovery Services. McClellan Health System
offers healthcare services for the entire family, bringing the latest
technology and health care services to the communities it serves.
McClellan will be hosting a gallery space for both
their residents and the residents of the region to enjoy. This
off-site opportunity is open to all LARAC members, free of charge.
Work may be for sale; LARAC accepts a 20% commission. LARAC also
maintains off-site display areas at the Glens Falls Hospital and
DElla Auto Dealership in Queensbury. Work for display is chosen at
the discretion of LARAC visual arts staff. |
