The Adirondack Theatre Festival is opening its
ninth season of professional contemporary theatre June 18-July 27,
2003 at various locations throughout the Lake George/Glens Falls
region while a new theater is constructed at the former Woolworths in
Glens Falls.
The Festival’s season on the road will open June
18 with the World Premiere of The Lake’s End by Anton Dudley. This
romantic and dramatic play takes place in pre-WWII Italy and is set on
the shores of beautiful Lake Como. ATF will present The Lake’s End
June 18-28 at the Lake George Recreation Center, a dramatic outdoor
location over-looking beautiful Lake George.
Next up will be a
hilarious musical comedy Bingo which follows a group of bingo-mad
women through their lives and loves revolving around this game of
chance, performed in the Church of the Messiah Parish House in Glens
Falls which ATF will temporarily turn into a bingo hall July 2-13.
The
Festival’s third mainstage show will be the regional premiere of
The Unexpected Man by the Tony Award winning playwright
Yazmina Reza (author of Art, ATF 2001) which will be performed
at the Adirondack Scenic Building, 20 Elm St. in downtown Glens Falls
July 17-27.
ATF will round out its season with a world premiere solo
performance It Goes Without Saying, a work-in-progress which will
perform June 26-28 at the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls and July 9-11
at the Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek.
