The Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Councils Lapham Gallery

by Ann Larsen of Edinburg, NY and Leslie Peck of Greenwich,
NY; photography by Pamela Clark Phelps of Glens Falls, NY;
and mezzotint etchings by Gerald Scheck of Delhi, NY. |

Osage Woman |
Jean Kroeber
New York City
Jean Kroeber is a sculptor who carves in both stone and
wood. Her pieces are mainly figurative, simplifying
the form and leaving portions unfinished to show the
material used. An elected member to the Salmagundi
Club, Pen and Brush, Inc. among other groups, Jean has
exhibited in many group shows throughout the Northeast, and
her work is in many private collections across the country. |

Day Dreams |
Ann Larsen
Edinburg, NY
Ann Larsen is a Contemporary Realist landscape painter
working in oils. She creates small field studies Plein
air to comprise the subjects for her larger paintings,
occasionally finishing the piece in the field, and other
times completing the paintings in her studio using the small
sketches and photographs. She has exhibited and
received awards at the national level and has been selected
two years running into the American Women Artists National
Juried Competition. |

Leslie Peck
Greenwich, NY
Leslie Peck has enjoyed a successful
career as an illustrator for several publishing firms,
including Random House, Penguin Putnam, and Avon Books,
among others. Now residing in scenic Washington
County, Leslies strong background in portraiture and
interest in the farm life surrounding her, has led her to
celebrate the glory of these beautiful and important
animals. Leslie has exhibited in numerous juried
exhibits throughout Northeastern New York State. |

Mommas and Babies |
Pamela Clark Phelps
Fort Edward, NY
Pamela Clark Phelps is a local
photographer who is displaying her series of digitalized
photographs taken of village life in Mozambique during her
mission trip there in 2004. The photos were originally
taken with film photography; Pamela converted them digitally
into sepia tones with spot color, creating a more dramatic
effect. The photos show the villagers in their daily
lives, dealing with different realities than those we
experience in the United States. |

Field and Cow |
Gerald Scheck Delhi, NY
Gerald Scheck uses a combination of printmaking techniques,
including intaglio mezzotint, drypoint etching, and
engraving to create his atmospheric monochromatic
landscapes. A metal and welding instructor at SUNY
Delhi, he has participated in many exhibits throughout the
country throughout his long career. |
