students’ reading of Bitter Freedom: Memories of a Holocaust
Survivor by Jafa Wallach and presentations by her daughter,
Rena Bernstein, also a Holocaust survivor. This exhibition is
filled with paintings, drawings, poetry, prose, and power
point presentations from students in eighteen area schools. Also
featured are works by Rena Bernstein and other Holocaust
survivors.
The reception will include a special program
featuring music by opera singer Pat Phillips, proclamation by
Mayor Akins, remarks by Holocaust survivor Rena Bernstein and
Project Coordinator, Sunny Buchman, and benediction by Reverend
LaMont Robinson.
Come to to reception to honor area Holocaust survivors and the
artistic expressions of students celebrating the message of love
and the strength of the human spirit triumphing over the horror
of the Holocaust.

Coopers Cave Ale Co., named “Celebration of Life” in honor of Jafa Wallach, will be served.
