Crystal Eggleston
Sculpture by Crystal Eggleston
“The Angry One”, $160
3-Dimensional Sculpture
(12" x 18”)
Crystal Eggleston is a local artist and art teacher from the Glens Falls area.  She creates artwork in a variety of media but prefers to create non-objective sculpture in wood and steel.  "The Angry One" is a sculpture created from steel and welds that give this piece a sense of emotional tension.  The wires that erupt from the welds add to the unsettling nature of the sculpture.

Ann Larsen
Oil on Canvas by Ann Larsen
 “Sails”, $350
Oil Painting on Canvas
20” x 17” framed
(actual piece: 12” x 9”)
 www.AnnLarsen.com

Ann Larsen is a contemporary realist painter working in oils and pastels.  She paints landscape, still life, and architectural subjects.  Ann works directly from nature trying to capture a mood or feeling for a place that entices her and presents a challenge. “On a recent visit to Stonington, Maine, this wonderful model sailboat in a antique store caught my eye.  The juxtaposition of the sails, geraniums and window panes made for an intriguing painting.”

Gary Larsen is a photographer shooting in the 35mm film format.  He has exhibited in many venues in Upstate New York including Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, Lake Placid, Troy, Blue Mountain Lake, and Old Forge.  His work includes landscapes and other fine art subjects. “This photograph was taken while I was walking in Florence, Italy.  The man and his dog framed by the ancient arch immediately struck me as a classic Old World subject.  The glowing sunlight gives their setting a feeling of warmth and closeness.”

Paul Chapman
Acrylic on MDF by Paul Chapman
"Three of a Kind", $230
Acrylic paint on MDF
13 1/4" x 13 1/4" framed
(actual piece 12” x 12”)

“I usually paint images that are fraught with meaning and taken from photographs and sketches that are manipulated until I get the idea I am looking for.  I play with the color and the composition until I am comfortable with the image and then I start painting. I n this painting, however, I started with three pears and placed the lights on them, highlighting the edges that I wanted shown.  Then I had to paint quickly before the pears started to change colors, as they ripened.  The only thing I changed from the original was the wall outlet.  I moved it into the picture - it was too high on the wall.  I believe it was painted in 5 sessions and - yes - I did eat the pears.”
