At North Main, formerly Arts 220, we believe that " art always changes", whether a person is making the art or looking at and becoming involved with it.  For example, we might have a definite idea and image in mind when we begin, but then, as the actual art-making progresses, the work develops its own way, moving in directions and necessitating changes that are challenging to us.  ARTS 220 Gallery features the works of its two founding artists, Caroline Hooke of Cambridge and Ruth Sauer of Salem.  Both artists have studio space on site that provides visitors a chance to see works in progress along with many art projects by students.  Art instruction is an integral part of  the Gallery and Studio.  Click here for information on classes.  In January 2002, guest artists began to exhibit at ARTS 220, and the Gallery expects to display the works of three or four artists per year.
