This month LARAC is highlighting the creative efforts of Andrea and
Larry Gray. Andrea is a well known soap and fragrance maker, and
Larry is an accomplished builder of authentic Harvest tables. The
couple operates from their Lake George home and welcomes visitors by
appointment. Andrea has been in the soap making business for the last
three years. She was hooked when she took a class and realized how much
fun it was. What started as a hobby grew into commissions, festival
participation, and the possibility of a shop out of her home.
Andrea offers twenty different types of soaps and has recently begun
offering fragrances, bath salts, oils, and lotions. Her products
are all natural, with most of the ingredients grown in her
garden. You can find her products in the LARAC Shop. Aadolee
Products include Cold Process all Vegetable Based Soaps, Glycerin
Soaps, Hand and Body Lotions, Bath Salts, Adirondack Trail Kits,
Natural Bug Repellants, Bath & Body Message Oil, Body Sprays, Natural
Lip Balms, Fragrance Oils, Essential Oils, and Gift Baskets.
Larry Gray has been making Harvest Tables for the last
four years. Harvest Tables were popular in the 17th and 18th
centuries but are virtually unheard of today. He realized there was
a demand for solid plank tables since they are unavailable on the
market. His Harvest Tables are solid pieces of wood, often
crafted from hickory, pine, maple, or a wood of the customer's
choosing. Table tops can be up to three inches thick, and the
tables are often ten feet in length. All of the tables are built
to order, and appropriate benches or sideboards can be ordered as well. Larrys favorite part of the process is seeing the customers reaction
to a table they helped design and create. |
