Barbara Garro, states, "I am stepping out with my own
signature style of painting, Abstract Synchronism".
Barbara Garro's artistic journey, spanning 45 years of non-stop
experimenting, resulted in her new direction and art style:
Abstract Synchronism, characterized by curvilinear and diagonal
movement. For provenance, nine paintings in Abstract Synchronism
will bear the names of the artist's parents--Homiak and Garro. In
sync with the artist's vision, sparkling colors burst forth or
variations of one color, like "Life" (visit
www.BarbaraGarro.com).
In this show, you see the first Abstract Synchronism painting and the
most recent.
On display at LARAC through March, visitors will see "Dark Eyes", the
first Abstract Synchronism painting, and "Leaps and Boundaries", the
most recent Abstract Synchronism painting.
Garro paints on wood, clay board, canvas board, glass and paper with
oil, casein, watercolor, and acrylic mediums. The Garro artistic
journey began 45 years ago as one of the mentored students of
Philadelphia master painter and sculptor, Morris Blackburn (1902-1979).
In his plein-air multimedia landscape classes at the Philadelphia Art
Museum, students painted along Philadelphia's Schuylkill River.
Within the last five years, Barbara has had several one-woman shows.
Since 1978, Garro's biography appeared in five Marquis "Who's Who"
publications. Currently Garro is being considered for "Who's Who
in the World".
Garro's work can be seen at the Ginofor Gallery, Cambridge; Gallery 100,
Saratoga Springs; Blue Mountain Organics, Granville; Recycling Red
Dresses, Saratoga Springs; and Moseskill Marketplace, Argyle.
