Wilfred's Woodcraft
Wilfred Charbonneau Jr.

33 Dorsman Drive, Clifton Park, NY 12065

wcharbo1@nycap.rr.com
www.antlersculpture.com
My love of nature inspires unique and interesting works of art made on a scroll saw. My primary canvas is moose antler and the occasional piece of unique wood.  Antler is such a natural media to work with that one can almost feel its energy.  My goal in my art is to allow one to escape into the piece, if only for a moment, and take them to a place they may have been or wish to be, as I do while experiencing the joy of their creation.  I feel this type of art brings a little bit of the outside, inside, and allows ones imagination to take over.  I have done commissioned pieces that have a much more special meaning to the owner.  Commissions allow me the joy of tapping into someone else's artistic vision and creating a tactile image of their art. I  am the current chairman of the Northeastern Woodworkers Scroll Saw Guild and give scroll saw presentations and instruction throughout the Capital Region.

Keith's Jacket: Wood Sculpture by William O'Donnell   Keith's Jacket: Wood Sculpture by William O'Donnell
"I was amazed at the artist's ability to evoke the weight and smooth texture, satin surface of a well-worn leather coat, from the pucker of the pockets and the sag at the shoulders to the quilted plush of the lining. The addition of the hanger, zipper pull and cell phone only enhance the masterful illusion of 3-D object reality. My congratulations to this artist for fashioning a work that is not only a technical tour-de-force, but a witty inversion of the" found object"-i.e., an ordinary object sculpturally 'found' within a block of wood. Well done!" Dr. Jefferson Harrison, Chief Curator, Chrysler Museum of Art, Norfolk, Virginia

Textiles by Robin Blakney-Carlson
Robin Blakney-Carlson is an instructor, feltmaker and fiber artist producing functional and non-functional, one-of-a-kind garments and artworks in a variety of felting techniques.  This ancient textile form presents exciting possibilities to combine color, texture and dimension in a very tactile process.  Fiber, soap, moisture and friction are just the starting point for feltmaking.  Inspiration can emerge from the most microscopic forms to an expanse of sky or a memory.  Robin has been felting for thirteen years, indoctrinated by her sister, internationally known feltmaker and instructor, Polly Stirling.  Feltmaking classes are taught in her new Lucky Stone Studio on the second floor of the Troy Shirt Factory, 21 Cooper St., Glens Falls, NY.  Please contact Robin for class schedules and information.

Work by Kris Gregson Moss
Kris' love of nature and desire to see all the details has led her to do the same thing with fabric.  She looks for pattern and movement, luster, and all the hues of color. The fabric is her inspiration with all its minute intricacies which are then  accented with stitches, beads, stones, and other embellishments. When building with fabric to create the shapes and forms, Kris is working to get the fabric to get up and dance.  In addition to her two and three dimensional art, she loves teaching in her own studio where students can take classes in fabric collage, painting with fabric, squiggles and (reverse appliqu้ technique).
