WARREN COUNTY

Adirondack Ballet Theater, Inc. (Glens Falls) Presents “The Wizard of Oz- Our Journey” and the 27th Anniversary of the “Nutcracker”.

Adirondack Repertory Dance Theatre (Glens Falls) Presents their “Spring Concert”, and will also present their “Holiday Performance” in December.

Adirondack Voices (Queensbury) presents “Let Freedom Ring” a performance exploring the combination of bells and voices.

Art In the Public Eye (Glens Falls) partnered with GEM to present 2018’s GEM Festival.

Community, Work, Independence (Glens Falls) will provide pottery classes for members, taught by Dolores Thompson, and then host a public showing of the work created.

Glens Falls Community Theatre (Glens Falls) will present it’s Senior Seminar “World War II” A Community Experience”.

Hadley-Luzerne Public Library (Lake Luzerne) will host an event at the library called “Presentation by Daniel Way”.

Johnsburg Youth Committee (Johnsburg) presents “After School Arts Club” conducted by local artist Kate Hartley in the Art Room of Johnsburg Central.

Lake George Community Band (Lake George) presents “Salute to Veterans” a concert that will be free for veterans, current military, children, and students.

North Country Arts (Glens Falls) collaborated with local artists to create “Artists Open Studio Tour” to give artists and the public the opportunity to share in the creative process of creating art.

Our Town Theater Group (North Creek) presents three performances of “Christie’s Play: The Mousetrap” at the Tannery Pond Community Center.

Stony Creek Free Library (Stony Creek) will put on the work shop: “Digital Photography and Photoshop Weekend Workshop” to provide insight on photography and editing.

Tannery Pond Center For The Arts (North Creek) presents the “Crane School of Music Choir”, “Natalie Salzman, Harpist Extraordinaire”, and the “Spike Wilner Trio”.

Town of Chester (Chestertown) will present the children’s opera “Billy Goats Gruff”.

Town of Johnsburg Library (Johnsburg) will host two classes; “Needle Felting” and the “Art of Expressive Drawing” both instructed by local artists.

Wiawaka Holiday House (Lake George) presents a “Georgia O’Keefe Week & Art Show”.

World Awareness Children’s Museum (Glens Falls) presents “Water: Unity and Diversity” which explores the role water plays in economic and social movements through creative activities.

 

WASHINGTON COUNTY

Agricultural Stewardship Association (Greenwich) presents “Farm Photography”, children work with professional photographers taking trips to conserved farms, they learn technique and then produce the children’s framed work which is on display at local fairs.

Bancroft Public Library (Salem) partnered with Suzanne Cohen to present “Eleanor” a musical, at multiple Washington County Venues.

Greenwich Free Library (Greenwich) presents ‘”Music is Living History” and “Express Yourself- Art, Ideas and Free Speech” a program that explores the concept of free speech through art and literature.

Historic Salem Courthouse Preservation Association (Salem) presents “Music in the Chamber” and will also offer “Jr. High Hands on Studio Art with Professionals” a new program that allows Jr. High students to work first hand with local artists in a variety of mediums.

Hudson River Shakespeare Company (Hudson Falls) presents “Troulis and Cressida” at the Strand Theater in Hudson Falls in April.

Little Theater on the Farm (Fort Edward) presents the “Country and Bluegrass Jamboree” in August, as well as “An Afternoon of Irish Music” and the “Canal Street Marketplace Musicians”.

The Georgi on the Battenkill Community Park and Museum (Shushan) will host “Fairies in the Hamlet”- an exhibition of Fairy homes created by local artists.

The Senior Center of the Kingsbury and Fort Edward Area (Hudson Falls) will offer “I remember, I am, I love: Journaling at the Center” a 5 week journaling and sketching program for seniors.

Village of Granville (Granville) presents the “2018 Summer Concert Series” in Veterans Park.

Village of Whitehall (Whitehall) presents the 35th season “Music in the Park” series on Friday evenings in July and August.

 

 

INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS

Dennis Wilson’s project “Chip Carving the Children’s Room” will add to the beautification of the Children’s Room at the Chestertown Community Library by creating custom wood carvings above the alcove.

Jessica Kane will write “A Woman Called Mother” and offer a writing workshop, open to the public on the topic of mothers.

 

ARTS EDUCATION

Dennis Wilson will work with the Hadley Luzerne Jr & Sr High school to put on the performance “The Lone Ranger”.

Kate Hartley’s “JCS and the North Creek Mosaic Project” is a continuation of a public mural Kate has been creating with students each year. This grant will allow elementary aged and high school kids to participate in the project.

Amanda Murphy’s project “Creating Peace in Abraham Wing” includes just over 90 students, creating a mural for the school depicting what peace looks like to them.
